Important Shipping Information
We do not ship to PO boxes or internationally. You must provide a physical address to which your package can be delivered, either by UPS or Fed Ex Home Delivery.
Some of our manufacturers use the US Postal Service to ship to APO addresses, but not all. In general, the smaller items like covers and pillows may be shipped to APO or FPO addresses. Most of the larger items, like frames, can only be shipped to physical addresses within the US.
Some products can be shipped to Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. There are additional costs to ship to these states. To see whether the item you would like to order can be shipped to these two states and determine the shipping charges, call our toll-free number or send an email to:

It may also be possible to ship to Puerto Rico. Contact us to see if the products you're interested in can be shipped there.
Shipping from the Manufacturer directly to you!
To keep our prices among the lowest on the internet, we do not incur the high overhead costs of renting & maintaining a warehouse, warehouse staffing, and an expensive inventory – costs which must be recouped in the price of all sales. All of our products ship directly from the manufacturer to you, thus eliminating these warehousing costs. These savings are passed directly on to our customers, which means lower prices to you.
All orders are shipped as quickly as possible. Please keep in mind that our items are shipped from different manufacturers, and each manufacturer has its own fulfillment time. For example, our mattresses are made-to-order, so work begins after you place your order. The mattress is shipped as soon as it is finished. It will not sit in a warehouse collecting dust!
In a multi-item order, the smaller, or “soft-good’ items may arrive first, with the larger, heavier items being delivered several days to several weeks later. In the infrequent event that any portion of your order is back ordered, you will be notified via email immediately.
How will my order be shipped and how long will it take to receive the Items?
- Smaller Items and “Soft-goods”
Futon covers are generally available immediately and usually
ship within 4 business days after placing your order. They will arrive at your address 3-5 days after they leave the manufacturer from any one of a number of warehouses throughout the country, depending on your location. You can expect your items 5-8 days after placing your order. Your item will be delivered directly to your door. Futon covers, pillows, bean products, and some futon mattresses and some frames are shipped via UPS, FedEx Home Delivery, or DHL. These are the smaller items that fall within the UPS size constraints for shipping.
Many frames are shipped in pieces for assembly by the customer. For those that are small enough to be boxed within the UPS size limits, we will always ship by one of the carriers mentioned above.
- Larger Items
Futon mattressses are generally made to order. That means that after you place your order, the manufacturer begins to construct your mattress. This ensures that you have a quality product that did not sit around collecting dust in a warehouse for six months.
Rather, you receive a brand new product made from the finest materials and guaranteed to be new! Also, remember that futon frames and futon sets (futon frames with mattresses) are sizable pieces of furniture!
Both the common carrier aspect of futon frames and the made-to-order character of the mattresses means that those items do not ship out immediately. Most manufacturers are able to ship these items within 7 days of receiving your order. We hope that the longer wait does not discourage our customers. Instead it means quality products that are healthier for you.
Futon frames, mattresses, Shoji screens, and other large, bulky, or heavy items and futon sets that are not able to be shipped in boxes within UPS size constraints must ship by a freight trucking company – often referred to as “common carrier,” or “LTL” (less than truckload) – such as ABF, Yellow Freight, Conway, Consolidated Freight, or Old Dominion, to name a few. Because most futons and futon mattresses are too large for the overnight carriers, all futon companies use a similar freight trucking company for these larger futon items. This is the common shipping method and there are is special information you need to know to make your shipment a trouble-free experience:
Freight Company Shipping Information
This information pertains to LARGE ITEMS like wood futon frames and mattress sets.
Shipping time from manufacturer: 14 business days from date of placing your order with Futonsandbeanbags.com.
This represents the time involved for the manufacturer to arrange with a trucking company a partial load shipment on a truck going to a city nearest your address. (It may also include the time required for custom manufacture of your mattress.)
Transit Time: 4-6 days from date of shipment by manufacturer.
Ground transit involves the road driving time and is subject to weather conditions. Though manufacturers often have warehouses on opposite sides of the country from which to ship your product, there may be shipping delays in winter and during difficult weather conditions.
Arrival of your order: 12-25 days from placing order
Shipment Notification: Tracking information
Once your order is shipped by the manufacturer, you will be sent a “tracking number” by email to follow the progress. If you do not provide an email address at the time of purchase, you will not receive tracking information for your product.
Delivery: Freight company deliveries are usually limited to 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday.
You will receive a phone call from the freight company or the actual driver a day or two in advance to schedule a four-hour delivery window. You will need to be present to accept, inspect, and sign for the items.
If you miss the scheduled delivery, the freight company will charge you a redelivery fee.
Services Provided by Freight Company:
Freight companies are responsible for delivery only to the “curbside” of your residence. This is also called “the back of the truck” delivery.
If you ask politely and indicate a tip, the driver might help you get the boxes inside your house (but they are not required to).
If your apartment or condo is on an upper floor of a multi-story building, you will be expected to take possession of your order on the ground level. We advise you to arrange to have a friend available to help to move it upstairs, or arrange a location available on the ground where it can be safely stored until you have help.
Alternatively, you can open the boxes (which will already have been done for inspection) and take the pieces upstairs one or two at a time.
Freight companies do not:
- deliver on weekends
- deliver to the inside of your residence
- assemble the product
- unpack merchandise
- check merchandise for breakage
- remove packing material
- or move out old furniture.
INSPECT YOUR MERCHANDISE BEFORE SIGNING THE DELIVERY DOCUMENTS!
Even if you will not use the item right away, you still need to open all boxes and inspect each piece of the futon. While damage is rare, please follow the inspection procedure below:
- Verify that all cartons have been delivered, are intact, and are in good condition.
- If there is damage, “PRODUCT DAMAGED" must be written on the delivery documentation, identifying what items are damaged and how.
If any items are damaged or defective, please call us at 1-888-470-1523. We will make arrangements to have a replacement item or a part sent to you.
Most manufacturers prefer to send replacement parts rather than send an entirely new product.
In most cases the damaged parts will not need to be returned. We'll just send out replacements.
If the product is damaged, do not refuse the order. Refused orders are treated as cancellations after shipment and are subject to a 15% restocking fee and actual shipping charges. If the product is damaged, please contact us immediately with the information on which box in the shipment contains the damaged item. We will have your replacement part(s) sent to you as soon as possible.
It is normal for the packaging to show some wear and tear. However, if there is substantial visible damage to the boxes, or you can see damage to the contents of the boxes, ask the driver to make a note about the damage on the delivery documents.
- If there are undetected damages not noted on the original delivery documents and a second delivery appointment is needed to correct, additional shipping charges may apply.
Remember, items damaged by the carrier will be redelivered at no additional charge provided the above information about damage was written on original delivery paperwork and reported to us within 48 hours.
PLEASE NOTE: If you cancel an order after it ships OR refuse an order for any reason, you will be charged a restocking fee of 15% as well as the actual shipping charges originally paid by FutonsAndBeanBags.com.
Items damaged by the carrier will be redelivered at no additional charge, provided the appropriate notations were made on the original delivery paperwork.
Defective items (that left the factory in defective condition) will be replaced as quickly as possible at no charge to you.
WHILE MOST ORDERS ARE FULFILLED WITHIN 2-3 WEEKS, IN SOME CASES ORDER FULFILLMENT CAN TAKE UP TO 4-5 WEEKS.
